What is Mail Subscription?

Mail Subscription is a service that has been adopted by Gidani, which enables a member of the Playing Public to participate in either a LOTTO®, LOTTO PLUS® and PowerBall® Game/s for a multiple number of draws other than by purchasing a ticket from a retailer.

How to win?

The LOTTO® and/or LOTTO PLUS® game draw machines contain 49 numbered balls.  The draw machine randomly chooses six of the balls which are the winning numbers plus an extra ball being the bonus number.  You could win prizes in the seven different prize divisions depending how many of the numbers you have marked on your board go through.

The PowerBall® game draw machines contain 45 numbered balls (1st machine) and 20 numbered balls (2nd machine). The 1st draw machine randomly chooses 5 of the balls which are the winning numbers plus an extra (PowerBall®) ball from the 2nd machine. You could win prizes in the eight different prize divisions depending on how many of the numbers you have marked on your boards go through.

A Subscriber is allowed to have as many different subcriptions as they wish.
Two types of Subscription methods are offered;

• Fixed Period Subscriptions (Pre-paids)

Purchase a subscription for a minimum period of  three (3) months up to twelve (12) months. Pay the full amount in advance for the full duration.

• Monthly Debit Order Subscriptions

Purchase a subscription by paying an amount for one month at a time, for a minimum period of three (3) months, continuous until you notify us in writing that you wish to cancel the subscription. The cost per month varies according to the number of draws in the specific month.

• Subscription Periods

Subscription periods are based on calendar months. Each period starts on the first of each month. It will not be possible to commence participation in draws on any other day of the month.

• Fixed Period Pre-payments

When purchasing a Fixed Period Subscription, once the money is received and confirmed, start date of participation in draws is always the 1st of the next month.

• Debit order collection dates

•  The primary Debit Order collection date will be the 1st of each month. There will be a first attempt to collect funds on the 1st of each month, thereafter there will be a second attempt on the 15th of each month.

• Debit orders that were returned unsuccessful on the 1st will be included in the second attempt.

• New debit order applications that were received after the 1st will be included in the second attempt on the 15th, thereafter they will all be included in the first attempt of the next month, the 1st.

• Subscription start dates:  All subscriptions have been set to start on the 1st day of each month. All payments due will be collected a month prior to the commencement of the subscription for both debit order and fixed period subscribers.

• For Pre-paid subscriptions, where money is deposited in Gidani’s Mail Subscription Account between the 1st and 31st of a particular month, draw entries will only be active on the 1st of the following month.

•  For Debit order subscriptins, when funds are collected on the 1st of the month or in the second attempt on the 15th, they will all start participation on the first of the next month.

Gift Subscriptions

Give someone else the opportunity to Tata Ma Chance Tata Ma Millions®.
You can purchase a LOTTO® or LOTTO PLUS® Mail Subscription for a loved one, acquaintance, a friend etc.  On the application form you will fill in your details as well as the recipient’s details.  We will then send the subscription certificate to the recipient of your choice. The numbers printed on the certificate are the numbers that will be put into play. Completion of the gift section of the subscription application takes effect as notice to the National Lottery that you are assigning your rights in the subscription to the person nominated by you, and you personally will have no further rights in the subscription.

Things not to forget

• Your application form must be signed or will not be accepted.

• When signing the agreement you are confirming that all the information supplied is accurate and true.

• You must be 18 years or older and if you are buying this subscription as a gift, the recipient must be 18 years or older.

• A copy of your ID must be attached to the application form.

• Your payment / proof of payment or debit order details must be enclosed.

• Only payment from a South African Bank Account will be accepted. Gidani will only be able to debit off the account if the account allows such.

• If making an EFT payment please use the reference number generated on the application form as a reference when making the payment.

• If you choose the payment by installment option, if at any stage you want to cancel your debit order with us, we will require this instruction in writing giving 30 days notice.

What happens next?

• Once Gidani receives your application form they will verify the details

• Gidani will process your application form.

• Once Gidani’s accounts department confirms that they have received payment for your subscription, Mail Subscription Services will send you a subscription certificate confirming your numbers and draws in which your numbers will automatically be entered into.

• Remember to Play Responsibly – It is only a game.

SUMMARY OF GAME RULES RELATING TO SUBSCRIPTIONS:

• A subscriber or recipient must be 18 years or older

• To enter, a completed Mail Subscription application form must be sent with the required payment or payment authority to the address shown on the form.

• Upon receipt and acceptance of a completed subscription application form and payment in full is received and cleared, Mail Subscription will process the application form.  Mail Subscription will then send to the subscriber’s or recipient’s address a Subscription Certificate which will give all the details of the subscription and what has been entered into Gidani’s central computer system.

• Gidani may at their discretion refuse to accept a subscription.

• Where the subscriber’s payment is dishonored, the subscriber’s number selection(s) will not be entered into any draw. Only once Gidani has received the funds will the numbers be placed into the draw.

• Please note that if the subscriber is on the debit order option Gidani will debit the account on the date / or closest business date specified on the application form prior to the actual draws chosen.

• Gidani can cancel an existing subscription at their own discretion if the circumstance so warrants.

• It is the responsibility of the subscriber or recipient if on debit order, to inform Gidani in writing of any banking detail changes.

• Number selections and subscriber or recipient names may not be changed until the renewal of the subscription.

• It is the responsibility of the subscriber or recipient if applicable to notify Mail Subscriptions in writing of any changes to their address.  This must be signed and the subscriber must include their subscription reference number.  The notification should be sent to the address appearing on the mail subscription application form.

• A subscription shall be deemed to have been received by Gidani on the date of the first draw recorded on the certificate.

• Notification will be sent to the address appearing on the subscription application form.

• The Certificate shall confirm that, for the recorded number of Draws held by Gidani from and including the starting date shown therein, the Subscriber is deemed to have purchased each of the Boards indicated by the Certificate.

• It is the responsibility of the subscriber to verify or where applicable, the responsibility of the recipient to verify with the subscriber, that the certificate correctly shows the number of boards selected, commencement date of the draw and numbers selected.

• The liability of Gidani for any loss suffered by a Subscriber or a Recipient as a result of any discrepancy, whether or not the same was caused by an act of Gidani’s employees, retailers or agents, and whether in negligence or otherwise, is limited to the amount of the Subscription monies.

• Prize winnings over R50 000 must be claimed in person from any National Lottery Office.

• Winners may be required to present the Certificate together with their identification as proof of entitlement to prizes.

• In the event of a discrepancy between the numbers reflected in the subscription certificate, and those contained in our central computer system, only the numbers recorded in Gidani central computer system will be entered into the draw dates reflected on the subscription certificate.

• Gidani reserves the right to cancel or change at any time the whole or any part of the online game or draw subscribed for, and/ or any Subscription or any condition attached to the subscriptions.

• In the event of any cancellation or modification of the online game or draw subscribed for, or any conditions attached to the Subscription, Gidani may cancel the existing Certificate and issue a new Certificate reflecting such modifications.

• In the event of a cancellation of a draw, Gidani will extend the Subscription to any appropriate alternative draw.

• Where the Subscriber has assigned his/her rights in a Subscription to a Recipient and given notice to us of that assignment, all rights and obligations in respect of the Subscription (except the obligation to pay for the Subscription) will vest in the Recipient.
